2026 - Week 19

Hello Beckton,

I hope you’re keeping warm, cool, dry, or whatever the weather decides to throw at us today.

The good news is that it’s been a below-average week for street crime in Beckton. The bad news is that we did have a stabbing in Beckton Park. Details are below.

Stabbing

13/05/2026 – You may have noticed a large police presence around Beckton Park yesterday. A 17-year-old boy met up with friends and was reportedly lured towards some bushes, where he was attacked and robbed. The victim sustained a stab wound to his wrist. He knew the attackers, and arrests have already been made. Thankfully, his injuries have been assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Public Order / Road Rage

08/05/2026 – Near Beckton Roundabout
One driver, annoyed with the car behind him, began brake-checking. During the incident, the offending driver brandished a samurai sword before turning off towards Barking.

11/05/2026 – Beckton Retail Park,12:30pm
Two women began laughing at a lone woman who was parking her car. The situation then escalated into aggressive shouting and swearing as they were joined by a man. The victim attended the security office for safety.

Robbery

07/05/2026 – This incident took place on a bus near the Woolwich Ferry but has appeared in Beckton crime records. Two youths approached another youth on the bus and demanded an iPhone, threatening to “get my crazy brother to come down” if the victim refused.

Theft from Vehicle

09/05/2026 – Atlantis Avenue
Number plates were stolen from a parked vehicle.

Theft from a Person

09/05/2026 – Tollgate Road near St Mark’s
Cycle-enabled phone snatch reported.

Other Notes

12/05/2026 – Oakley Close, around 9:30pm
Four males reportedly banged loudly on a resident’s door. The resident looked through the spy hole and warned the group that police were being called. The males then walked away.

As always, keep your phones out of sight where possible and look out for one another.
